Sad Sod?

Virtually every front lawn in Stonewood was disturbed by crews laying underground fiber optic lines last summer. The first wave of digging, burial, and resodding was by subcontractors employed by Metronet. The second round of work was by WOW (WideOpenWest).

Although workers left sod patches to cover filled-in holes, not all of the sod has taken root. In some cases, homeowners were left with multiple patches of unsightly, brown grass.

The damage is not limited to Stonewood: it’s happened all over Altamonte Springs. City Manager Frank Martz told TV station News 6 that the companies showed “indifference” to the problems they caused, which included severed cables and broken water and sprinkler pipes.
